At Everyday Play, our goal is to encourage meaningful, engaging play experiences using everyday household items. While we aim to provide fun, simple, and developmentally appropriate activity ideas, the safety and wellbeing of your child is always the highest priority.
Adult Supervision
All activities featured in Everyday Play products must be completed under the active supervision of a responsible adult at all times.
Our products are intended to support parent or caregiver-led play and are not designed for independent use by children.
Age Recommendations
The age recommendations provided throughout our books and resources are intended as a general guide only.
Every child develops at their own pace, and parents or caregivers are responsible for determining whether an activity is appropriate for their child's age, abilities, developmental stage, and individual needs.
If your child is still mouthing objects, do not complete activities involving small items or materials that may present a choking hazard, regardless of the recommended age.
Safe Materials
Parents and caregivers are responsible for ensuring that all materials used during activities are:
- age-appropriate
- non-toxic
- clean
- undamaged
- suitable for their individual child
Always inspect materials before use and discontinue any activity immediately if any item becomes damaged, broken, worn, or otherwise unsafe.
Choking Hazards
Some activities include the use of small household items, loose parts, food ingredients, craft materials, or other objects that may present a choking, aspiration, or ingestion hazard.
Children should never be left unattended with these materials.
Parents and caregivers should use their own judgement when selecting activities and substitute larger or alternative materials where appropriate.
If your child is still mouthing items do not do activities with small items. Trust your own judgement.
Water Play
Any activity involving water requires constant adult supervision.
Children should never be left unattended near water, regardless of the amount of water involved.
Food-Based Activities
Some activities use food products as part of sensory or play experiences.
Parents and caregivers are responsible for considering allergies, food intolerances, dietary restrictions, choking risks, and any other medical or developmental needs before participating.
Always supervise children closely during food-based activities.
Allergies, Medical Conditions & Additional Needs
Our products are intended for general play and entertainment purposes only.
Some activities may not be suitable for children with allergies, sensory sensitivities, medical conditions, disabilities, or additional developmental needs.
Parents and caregivers should modify or avoid activities where necessary and seek professional advice if they have concerns about their child's participation.
Safe Play Environment
Parents and caregivers are responsible for creating and maintaining a safe play environment.
Activities should be completed on suitable surfaces, with appropriate equipment, and in an environment that is free from avoidable hazards.
If an activity becomes unsafe or unsuitable at any time, it should be stopped immediately.
